Task force arrests two in Rhode Island, one in Massachusetts on various charges

PROVIDENCE — Two Rhode Island men and one Massachusetts man were arrested on August 13 on separate warrants, including charges of assault with intent to commit a felony and breaking and entering, authorities said.

Shawn Turgeon, 56, was apprehended by members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force on charges stemming from an affidavit and arrest warrant issued by the Providence Police Department.

Turgeon, whose last known address is 30 Howard Avenue in Cranston, faces charges of assault with intent to commit a felony and failure to register as a sex offender.

He was taken into custody without incident and has been turned over to the Providence Police Department.

On the same day, Steven Marrapese, 44, of 230 Public Street in Providence, was arrested by the task force on an affidavit and arrest warrant for breaking and entering an occupied dwelling and larceny, charges out of the Cranston Police Department.

Marrapese also was taken into custody without incident and handed over to Cranston authorities.

Additionally, the Gaming Enforcement Unit arrested Jerome Brydie-Dean, 33, from 18 Howell Court in Chelsea, Massachusetts.

Brydie-Dean faces vandalism charges for malicious injury to property.

After being arraigned at the Lincoln Barracks before a Justice of the Peace, he was released on personal recognizance and given a future court date in the Third District Court.
