Clinton police seek help identifying suspect in store thefts

1 min read

CLINTON — The Clinton Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying an individual caught on security footage at Tradewinds Market allegedly engaging in repeated thefts.

Authorities released images from the store’s security cameras, which show the suspect on multiple occasions bypassing the checkout process entirely.

Store clerks have confirmed that they do not recall processing any transactions for the individual before he left the premises with unpaid merchandise.

The police have taken a light-hearted approach in their appeal for information, jokingly suggesting that the suspect might believe evading payment is akin to an Olympic sport or perhaps part of a magic act.

Residents with any knowledge about the identity of the individual or those who have relevant information are encouraged to contact the Clinton Police Department at 207-426-9192.

The department is eager to discuss the situation with the person of interest to understand their actions.

The Clinton Police Department assures the community that they are available to assist and encourages anyone with information to come forward.
