WARDSBORO — A Wardsboro man was arrested on charges of DUI and negligent operation following a single-vehicle crash on Vermont Route 100 late Monday evening.
At around 9:25 p.m., the Vermont State Police were called to the scene where they found William Elting, 34, of Whitingham, involved in an accident while driving a 2005 Toyota Corolla.
Troopers conducted an investigation that led to Elting’s arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Elting was taken to the Wilmington Police Department for processing.
Following his release, he was issued a criminal citation.
He is due to appear in the Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division, on Sept. 3 at 8:30 a.m. to respond to the charges.
