Boston police update most wanted list, seek public’s help

1 min read

BOSTON — The Boston Police Department refreshed its most wanted list on August 12, calling on the public to assist in locating individuals sought for various crimes.

In an effort to engage the community’s assistance, the department has reiterated that tips can be submitted anonymously through the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1 (800) 494-TIPS or by texting the word ‘TIP’ to CRIME (27463).

Police stress that they are interested in the information provided, not the identity of the informant, ensuring a 100% anonymous process.

The calls and texts to CrimeStoppers are received by officers and trained personnel who then pass the information to the relevant investigators.

In addition, the public can submit photos and videos of potential suspects via a designated app, details of which are available on the police department’s website.

Authorities remind the public that they are not required to disclose their identity when providing information about a crime.

This outreach is part of a broader initiative to encourage community involvement in public safety and law enforcement efforts.

The police department has also cautioned that the status of the individuals on the most wanted list is subject to change.

Some may have already been apprehended, and the public is advised to verify outstanding warrants with the police before taking any action.

The Boston Police Department continues to work closely with the community to apprehend suspects and reduce crime, underscoring the vital role of public participation in these efforts.
