WAREHAM — Wareham Police officers apprehended three males linked to a stolen vehicle and seized a handgun after responding to a report of suspicious activity on the evening of Aug. 11.
At around 7:55 p.m., authorities were dispatched to 227 Onset Avenue where they discovered the vehicle in question.
Upon investigation, the car was confirmed as stolen.
The individuals associated with the vehicle were identified as Rodney Jette, 23, Davon Hudson, 29, both from New Bedford, and a 17-year-old juvenile from Fall River.
Two of the suspects attempted to evade police on foot but were swiftly taken into custody after a short pursuit.
Inside the vehicle, officers found a 9mm Glock 17 handgun.
Jette faces multiple charges including receiving a stolen motor vehicle, possession of a large capacity firearm, and resisting arrest.
Hudson is charged with similar firearm-related offenses.
The juvenile, whose identity is withheld due to age, was also charged with offenses mirroring Jette’s, including disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Both Jette and Hudson are set for arraignment today, Aug. 12, at the Wareham 4th District Court.
The juvenile is scheduled for arraignment at the Brockton Juvenile Court.
Chief Walter Correia commended the officers for their quick response and for removing a firearm from Wareham’s streets.
