BRUNSWICK — A Brunswick man has been arrested following a hit-and-run incident that occurred outside a local McDonald’s on Pleasant Street.
At approximately 10:19 a.m. on Aug. 10, Brunswick Police received reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
According to witnesses, a vehicle made a left turn from the McDonald’s parking lot and struck a pedestrian crossing Pleasant Street.
The driver initially stopped but fled the scene before officers arrived.
Police later spotted the suspect vehicle traveling south on Church Road at high speed.
The car was observed pulling into a driveway, crossing a lawn, and hiding behind a garage.
The driver, identified as 62-year-old Frederick Snowdon of 472 Durham Road, was apprehended and charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, eluding an officer, and driving to endanger.
Snowdon was taken to Cumberland County Jail and is scheduled to appear at Cumberland County Superior Court on Nov. 19 at 8:30 a.m. His bail is set at $500 cash, and he has been ordered not to operate a vehicle.
The injured pedestrian was transported to Midcoast Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
