ST. ALBANS — Vermont State Police arrested a 24-year-old Montpelier man on Thursday for violating the conditions of his release, resisting arrest, and obstructing justice.
Skylar Lawder was apprehended at Burton Island State Park after state police received a tip that he had contacted a victim in violation of his release conditions set in April, following a sexual assault arrest.
Lawder allegedly attempted to destroy evidence and resisted arrest when a trooper and two detectives located him.
During the incident, no injuries were reported.
Lawder was transported to the St. Albans barracks without further disruptions and was held without bail for the pending sexual assault charge.
Additionally, a $10,000 bail was set for his new charges of resisting arrest and obstruction of justice.
This marks Lawder’s fourth arrest for violating his release conditions.
The Vermont State Police were assisted by the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Wardens in accessing Burton Island State Park.
