SHAFTSBURY — Troopers from the Vermont State Police arrested 25-year-old Tyler Toromino of Bennington on multiple charges, including second-degree aggravated domestic assault and burglary, after responding to a family fight on Route 7A on Aug. 7.

Police were called to the scene at 6:06 a.m., where they discovered that Toromino had assaulted a 26-year-old member of his previous household in the presence of a child.

He also interfered with the victim’s ability to contact emergency services and entered the residence without permission.

At the time of the incident, Toromino was found to be in violation of six conditions of release from a prior domestic assault case.

The Vermont State Police did not release the victim’s name, adhering to their policy on incidents of sexual assault or domestic violence.

Following his arrest, Toromino was held without bail at Marble Valley Corrections.

He is scheduled to appear before the court on Aug. 8 at 12:30 p.m. to face the aforementioned charges.
