SURRY — A juvenile passenger was airlifted with serious injuries following a single-vehicle accident on Pond Road Monday afternoon.

State Troopers from Troop C barracks arrived at the scene at 3:49 p.m. after receiving reports of the crash.

They discovered a 2011 Nissan Altima off the roadway, severely damaged, with a juvenile trapped inside.

Local fire departments worked together to extricate the passenger.

The injured juvenile was first taken to Cheshire Medical Center in Keene and then transported by medical helicopter to a trauma center for further treatment.

Authorities reported the Altima’s driver, also a juvenile, was unharmed and was cited for speeding at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation, and State Police are encouraging anyone with information to contact Trooper James Lamoureux.
