SPRINGFIELD — A woman was arrested on charges of cocaine possession and resisting arrest after a foot chase involving Springfield police officers.
The incident occurred on Aug. 3 when Officer Guzzo, on patrol in a marked cruiser, was dispatched to locate Brandon Heist, who was reportedly walking on Valley Street and had active warrants for his arrest.
Guzzo spotted Heist and Cachina Cox, who also had outstanding warrants, on Mt. Vernon Street.
Upon realizing they were recognized, both Heist and Cox fled the scene, leading to a pursuit.
Cox was apprehended after a chase down an embankment, where officers found what appeared to be illegal narcotics in her possession.
Cox was processed and issued a criminal citation to appear in Windsor Unit of Vermont Superior Court on Oct. 1 at 8 a.m. She was lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility on her warrants.
