BOSTON — A New Hampshire man was taken into custody by Boston Police on Monday evening after allegedly pointing a firearm at another driver and triggering multiple 911 calls.
At about 6:56 p.m., officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested Salvador Maldonado, 50, of Manchester, following a “person with a gun” call in the area of 95 Morton Village Drive.
Boston Police Operations had provided a suspect and vehicle description, which led to the encounter.
According to police reports, a victim claimed to have seen Maldonado point a gun at her while she was stopped at a traffic light.
While officers were interviewing her, a second call reported a similar incident at 49 Burt Street.
Officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) located a vehicle fitting the description and upon approaching, they spotted Maldonado with a brown rifle on the front passenger seat.
The weapon was later identified as a Sig Sauer MCX Airsoft Rifle.
Maldonado was charged with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and is slated for arraignment in Dorchester District Court.
