SHIRLEY — Responding to a report of stolen goods, Shirley Police Department officers are investigating a porch piracy incident that occurred on Aug. 6, where two cell phones were swiftly taken after being delivered to a residence.
According to witnesses, the phones delivered by FedEx were snatched within minutes by two male suspects, who might be either Black or Hispanic.
The thieves then fled to a Jeep Grand Cherokee that seemed to have been waiting nearby.
The vehicle in question is a late model from between the years 2011 and 2020, featuring tinted license plate covers and windows, and was noted to have a Massachusetts State inspection sticker.
Authorities suspect that the theft was premeditated, with the culprits possibly having prior knowledge of the phone delivery schedule.
