BOSTON — A 17-year-old juvenile was arrested late Sunday night after an attempted armed robbery involving a knife and a fight on Commonwealth Avenue, Boston Police said.
The incident occurred around 11:10 p.m. when officers from District D-14 (Allston/Brighton) responded to reports of a fight involving a large group at 1383 Commonwealth Avenue.
According to police, the victim was holding down the suspect when officers arrived, and the teenager was quickly handcuffed.
Police were informed that the suspect, along with others, attempted to steal the victim’s moped.
The victim fought back, prompting one of the assailants to brandish a knife and threaten to stab him.
Despite being disarmed, the suspect continued to assault the victim, who ultimately refused medical treatment.
The 17-year-old has been charged with armed assault with intent to rob and will be arraigned in Brighton District Court.
