Watertown police seek suspect in weekend break-in spree

WATERTOWN — The Watertown Police Department is asking for the public’s help in tracking down a suspect linked to multiple break-ins in the West end neighborhoods of Watertown over the weekend.

According to police, a series of attempted break-ins targeted homes and vehicles, but thus far, no confrontations or injuries have been reported.

Officials have released a video of the suspect and urge anyone with information regarding the individual’s identity or location to contact the Watertown Police Department at 617-972-6500 or use the anonymous tip line at 617-972-6408.

Chief Hanrahan and the Watertown Police Department are also calling on residents to remain alert and report any unusual activity.

As part of their crime prevention advice, they recommend securing homes and vehicles by locking doors and windows and considering the use of deadbolts, security alarms, and surveillance cameras.

They also advise homeowners to install outdoor lighting with motion sensors, keep yards and pathways well-lit, and secure valuables out of sight, using a safe for important documents and high-value items.
