Scituate barracks troopers make multiple DUI arrests over weekend

PROVIDENCE — A series of traffic stops conducted by Rhode Island State Troopers from the Scituate Barracks over the weekend resulted in multiple arrests for driving under the influence and related offenses.

On Aug. 3 at 10:57 a.m., Troopers apprehended Wendy Baker, 48, of Warwick, during a vehicle stop on Bergen Street.

Baker faces charges including DUI—BAC unknown, refusal to submit to a chemical test, driving with a suspended license, and resisting arrest.

Following her arrest, Baker was processed at State Police Headquarters, appeared before a Justice of the Peace as a bail violator, and was subsequently transported to the ACI – Women’s Intake to await her court date at the Sixth Division District Court.

Later that same day at 10:50 p.m., Dylan Diaz, 27, of Providence, was detained after a stop on Route 6 for an outstanding warrant related to a failure to appear for a pretrial conference on a charge of driving with a suspended license.

Diaz was processed at the headquarters and turned over to the Adult Correctional Facility- Men’s Intake.

The following morning, at 2:09 a.m. on Aug. 4, Jesse Castillo, 26, also of Providence, was arrested after being stopped on Route 6 in Johnston.

Castillo was charged with DUI with a BAC ranging from .10 to .15 on his first offense.

He was processed, arraigned, and released into the custody of a responsible adult.

Minutes later, at 2:29 a.m., Jose Gomez, 43, of North Providence, was taken into custody on Dean Street in Providence.

Gomez is charged with DUI—BAC unknown and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

After processing and arraignment, Gomez was likewise released to a responsible adult.
