Woman charged with assaulting hospital staff in St. Johnsbury

ST. JOHNSBURY — A local woman was arrested late Tuesday night for assaulting two healthcare workers at the Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital.

Vermont State Police said Annebelle Caspar, 20, of Glover, attacked nurse and security guard.

The incident occurred around 9:01 p.m. at the hospital’s emergency department, located at 1315 Hospital Drive.

Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks responded to the scene after receiving a report of the assaults.

Following the initial investigation, Caspar was cited to appear in Caledonia Superior Court on charges of assault of a protected professional and simple assault.

The conditions of the victims were not immediately released, and further details surrounding the events leading up to the assaults have not been disclosed.

Caspar’s court date is pending, and authorities are continuing to investigate the matter.
