St. Johnsbury man arrested for DUI, excessive speed on I-91

ST. JOHNSBURY — A St. Johnsbury man was arrested early Thursday morning for driving under the influence and excessive speed after Vermont State Police clocked his vehicle traveling at 100 mph on Interstate 91.

At approximately 1:12 a.m., troopers observed a vehicle speeding on I91.

They pursued the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, identifying the driver as 23-year-old Jacob Libby of St. Johnsbury.

During the stop, the investigation revealed that Libby was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Vermont State Police Barracks for processing.

Libby was later released on a citation and is scheduled to appear at the Caledonia County Superior Court to face charges related to the incident.
