BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department’s District A-1 unit apprehended an armed robbery suspect in the Boston Common early Friday morning.
At about 2:20 a.m., police detained Roman Samuels, 21, of Boston, following reports of an armed robbery in the park.
The suspect allegedly threatened to stab a victim with a pair of scissors before stealing his bag.
While investigating the scene, officers were approached by a second victim who reported her bag was taken while she was seated on a bench.
A description of the assailant led officers to locate and arrest Samuels inside the Common.
Samuels faces charges of armed robbery and larceny from a person.
He is scheduled for arraignment at Boston Municipal Court.
