Two arrested in separate incidents following traffic stops in Rhode Island

PAWTUCKET — At 11:15 p.m., Rhode Island State Troopers arrested Jermal Williams, 35, of Central Falls, on multiple bench warrants following a traffic stop on Lonsdale Avenue.

Williams was wanted for failing to appear at pretrial conferences for charges related to driving without a license, with warrants originating from East Providence and Pawtucket Police Departments.

Following his arrest, he was taken to the State Police – Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released pending a future court date.

In an unrelated incident, at 12:50 p.m., Sheryl Giorgi, 43, of North Providence, was arrested during a motor vehicle stop on Branch Avenue in Providence.

Giorgi faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, specifically less than 10 grams of crystal meth, and a Family Court reciprocal body attachment for a non-criminal charge.

After processing at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, Giorgi was arraigned and then turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution – Women’s Intake Center.
