Orwell man charged with criminal threatening

ORWELL — A local man was cited for criminal threatening following an incident involving a threatening phone call, Vermont State Police reported.

Authorities responded to a report of a threatening call at about 8:25 p.m. on Feb. 8.

The investigation identified 60-year-old Joseph Shaw as the suspect.

Shaw is accused of threatening Eric Oak, 43, who is a current tenant in a property in Orwell.

Shaw was cited to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Addison Criminal Division, on Oct. 28 at 12:30 p.m. to answer to the charge.

Both the accused and the victim are residents of Orwell.
