Man charged with lewd conduct in Clarendon, held on $5,000 bail

CLARENDON — A 61-year-old Clarendon man was arrested Sunday afternoon on charges of lewd and lascivious conduct, according to the Vermont State Police.

Troopers from the Rutland Barracks responded to a residence on RT 7B around 2:45 p.m. following reports of the incident.

The investigation led to the arrest of Peter Pfenning, who was accused of engaging in the unlawful behavior.

Following his arrest, Pfenning was lodged at the Marble Valley Correctional Center with bail set at $5,000 cash.

He has been ordered to appear in Rutland District Court – Criminal Division on Aug. 5 at 12:30 p.m.

The Vermont State Police did not release any information regarding the victim, adhering to their policy on incidents of domestic or sexual assault.
