SPRINGFIELD — A local man was arrested Saturday night for allegedly violating court-ordered conditions of release, according to police.

Jeremy Holmes was taken into custody at 10:46 p.m. July 6 during a traffic stop on Vermont Route 11, the Springfield Police Department said in a statement.

Officer Guzzo initially pulled over the vehicle Holmes was riding in for a headlight violation.

Upon approaching the car, Guzzo recognized Holmes as the passenger and the driver as a person Holmes was prohibited from contacting under existing court orders, police said.

Holmes was arrested without incident and transported to the Springfield Police Department for processing.

He was fingerprinted, photographed and issued new conditions of release.

Police said Holmes was later taken to Southern State Correctional Facility after failing to post $200 cash or surety bail.

Holmes is scheduled to appear in Windsor County Superior Court at 12:30 p.m. July 8 to face charges of violating conditions of release.
