Driver arrested for DUI refusal after I-89 crash in Bolton

BOLTON — Vermont State Police arrested a Fairfax woman for DUI refusal following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 89 early Friday morning.

Troopers from the Williston Barracks responded to a report of a crash on I-89 southbound near mile marker 72 in Bolton at 4:58 a.m. on Aug. 2, 2024.

Upon arrival, they identified the driver as Kayla Tosi, 32, of Fairfax.

While speaking with Tosi, troopers observed signs of impairment.

After conducting a field sobriety test, they arrested Tosi on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Tosi was transported to the Williston Barracks for processing.

She refused to submit to a breath test, leading to a charge of DUI refusal.

Authorities released Tosi with a citation to appear at the Chittenden County Superior Court-Criminal Division on Aug. 22 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charge.

The crash remains under investigation.
