NEWFANE — Vermont State Police arrested a 24-year-old man Thursday night after he allegedly shot at a vehicle containing multiple occupants outside a residence in Newfane.
Cyrus Chambers of Newfane was charged with first-degree aggravated domestic assault, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
Troopers from the Westminster Barracks responded to a report of the shooting at approximately 11:39 p.m. on River Road.
After an investigation, they determined Chambers had fired at the vehicle.
Chambers was taken to the Westminster Barracks for processing and later lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility without bail.
He is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division, at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 2 to answer the charges.
The names of the victims were not released, as Vermont State Police do not disclose identities of victims in domestic violence cases.
