MANCHESTER — Police in Manchester are advising local businesses and residents to be vigilant after at least three incidents of counterfeit money being passed off as legitimate currency were reported on Tuesday, July 30.
According to authorities, the fake bills are easily identifiable as fraudulent.
The words “copy,” “this is not legal,” and “for motion picture purposes” are printed on the counterfeit notes.
Despite these clear markings, the phony currency has been used in transactions at various establishments across the city.
The Manchester Police Department urges anyone who encounters these fake bills to inspect their cash thoroughly.
Businesses and individuals are encouraged to scrutinize the money they receive to ensure its authenticity.
Community members who come across or have information on the counterfeit bills are asked to contact the Manchester Police at 603-668-8711.
