GEORGETOWN — A 16-year-old from Biddeford, Maine, was arrested Tuesday morning on multiple charges including receiving stolen property, after crashing a black SUV in Georgetown, according to Police Chief David Sedgwick.
The juvenile, whose name has not been released due to his age, was also charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and being a fugitive from justice on a warrant from South Portland, Maine.
The incident occurred around 5:14 a.m. on July 30 when Georgetown police officers, along with Massachusetts State Police, responded to a report of an SUV crash on Central Street.
The investigation revealed that the vehicle was not owned by the juvenile and he was driving without a license.
The warrant out of South Portland stemmed from an incident at a correctional facility on July 26.
The juvenile was arrested without incident and taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries from the crash.
He is expected to be arraigned in Lawrence Juvenile Court later today.
