Brattleboro man faces multiple charges after Quality Inn incident

BRATTLEBORO — Following a threatening complaint at the Quality Inn on Putney Road, Brattleboro Police have arrested Bobby J. Jones, Jr., 47, on multiple charges including aggravated assault and drug possession.

Police responded to the scene on July 29 at about 11 a.m. after reports that Jones had brandished what appeared to be a rifle.

The weapon was later identified as a pellet gun.

During the arrest, officers discovered Jones in possession of a large quantity of suspected Oxycodone pills for which he did not have a prescription.

A subsequent search warrant executed on Jones’ hotel room led to the seizure of approximately 41 grams of suspected cocaine and additional pills.

Charges against Jones include aggravated assault, simple assault, disorderly conduct, possession of cocaine, and possession of depressant, stimulant, and narcotic drugs.

Jones was held at the Brattleboro Police Department on $1,000 bail.
