BETHEL — A tractor-trailer rollover on VT RT 107 near North Road early Tuesday morning resulted in suspected significant injuries to the driver, who was later transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment.

Vermont State Police from the Royalton Barracks responded to the single-vehicle crash at approximately 4:01 a.m. to find a 2007 Mack truck tractor totaled after the operator, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a right turn at speeds above the posted limit.

The truck rolled over and came to an uncontrolled stop on the southern shoulder of the roadway.

The driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, which occurred under clear weather conditions and on dry roads.

Emergency responders from the Bethel Fire Department, Department of Motor Vehicle Enforcement, and White River Valley Ambulance Service provided on-scene assistance to the State Police during the incident.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
