BURKE — On July 24, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Vermont State Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks responded to a call on Bugbee Crossing Rd. regarding a violation of an Abuse Prevention Order.
According to authorities, upon arrival, troopers identified that Cooper Murphy, 31, of Burke, had violated a Final Abuse Prevention Order issued by the Caledonia County Court.
Further investigation revealed that Murphy had previously breached a Temporary Abuse Prevention Order.
During the incident, Murphy resisted arrest but was subsequently taken into custody.
He was processed at the Vermont State Police Barracks in St. Johnsbury and later transported to the Northeast Correctional Complex with a bail set at $500.
Murphy has been issued a citation to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court – Criminal Division on July 25 at 1 p.m.
