Kensington standoff ends, no threat to public

KENSINGTON — A police standoff involving a barricaded individual with a firearm ended early this morning on Olivia Ln., according to the Kensington Police Department.

The incident began on July 22 when officers conducting a follow-up investigation at a residence on Olivia Ln. discovered a subject inside who had barricaded themselves with a firearm.

The Seacoast Emergency Response Team (SERT) and the Strafford County Emergency Response Team were deployed to the scene.

Residents of Olivia Ln. were advised to shelter in place while law enforcement worked to resolve the situation.

The shelter-in-place recommendation was lifted in the early morning hours of July 23, and authorities have confirmed that there is no longer a threat to the public.

The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office and the New Hampshire State Police Major Crimes Unit are conducting an active criminal investigation into the incident.

The Kensington Police expressed gratitude to all the police agencies that provided assistance during the event.
