PAWTUCKET — State troopers conducted a series of arrests for drug possession and driving under the influence in the city, with four individuals facing charges following traffic stops on July 16 and 17.
On Tuesday at 1:33 p.m., Duarte M. Cabral, 53, of East Providence, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance identified as crack cocaine following a vehicle stop on Broad Street.
He was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned, and released with a court date set at the Sixth Division District Court.
Later that evening at 5:18 p.m., Devin Silva, 32, also of East Providence, was apprehended for domestic felony assault.
Silva’s arrest stemmed from an investigation into an incident on Route 95 North.
Like Cabral, Silva was processed, arraigned, and released on the same conditions.
Early Wednesday at 12:03 a.m., Geoffrey Parker, 29, of Dorchester, Massachusetts, faced charges for driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a chemical test after being stopped on Route 95.
Within half an hour at 12:32 a.m., Norman F. Barrett, 50, of West Barnstable, Massachusetts, was arrested on similar charges following a stop on Reservoir Avenue in Providence.
Both men were processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and released pending future court dates.
