Two-vehicle crash in Underhill

UNDERHILL — A two-vehicle collision involving a Subaru Outback and a dump truck occurred on River Rd near Sand Hill on July 17 at 9:54 a.m., according to Vermont State Troopers.

The accident happened under clear skies on dry roads.

Joseph Vanhorn, 70, of Underhill, was driving his 2000 Subaru Outback when he rear-ended a 2022 International dump truck operated by Kenneth Blodgett, 61, of Jericho, as it slowed down.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

There were no injuries reported, but Vanhorn’s Subaru sustained significant front-end damage and had to be towed from the scene.

The dump truck experienced only minor rear-end damage.

Troopers were assisted by the Underhill/Jericho Fire Department in managing the scene.

The incident is under investigation, but authorities have not released further details at this time.
