WATERBURY — A Winooski man was arrested for driving under the influence after his vehicle was found parked in the middle of a state highway early Wednesday morning.
Vermont State Police responded to a report of a vehicle blocking VT Route 100 at the intersection of Guptil Road at 2:08 a.m. on July 16.
Upon arrival, troopers identified the operator as Emmett Edwards, 21, of Winooski.
Further investigation determined Edwards was under the influence of intoxicants at the time of operation, according to police.
Edwards was taken into custody and processed at the Berlin Barracks.
He was later released with a citation to appear in Washington Superior Court – Criminal Division on a charge of driving under the influence.
Police said Edwards refused to submit to a breath test.
The incident remains under investigation by the Vermont State Police.
