BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department’s District D-4 apprehended 29-year-old Patrick O’Neill on charges of armed robbery and assault on July 12.
At approximately 5:02 p.m., police were dispatched to the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Shawmut Avenue following reports of an armed robbery in progress.
Boston Police Operations had informed officers of a robbery and identified the male suspect as being armed with a knife.
Upon arrival, officers encountered two men engaged in a physical altercation.
O’Neill, identified as the suspect, was holding a knife.
He complied with officers’ commands to drop the weapon and was subsequently handcuffed without further incident.
O’Neill, a Boston resident, faces charges including Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Intent to Rob While Armed, and Assault and Battery.
He is scheduled for arraignment at Roxbury District Court.
