LOUDON — A head-on collision on Route 106 just north of Staniels Road claimed the life of an eight-year-old child and resulted in critical injuries to several others on July 12.
The Loudon Police Department, along with Fire and EMS units and additional resources from neighboring towns, responded to the crash site at approximately 6:37 p.m. They discovered a Toyota 4 Runner, driven by 52-year-old Stacy Sargent, and a Mazda 3, driven by 36-year-old Philip Sparacio, had collided.
Emergency responders transported two occupants of the Toyota and three occupants of the Mazda, including two children, to the hospital.
The eight-year-old child succumbed to injuries at the facility.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the Mazda 3 crossed the center line while traveling south and struck the Toyota 4 Runner head-on.
The New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction (CAR) Unit, along with Troop D barracks personnel, are conducting a thorough investigation.
As investigators work to determine the cause of the crash, Route 106 was closed for several hours for scene processing.
