BOSTON — Boston police seized 31 unregistered off-highway vehicles as part of an ongoing investigation into community complaints about reckless operation, officials said Thursday.
Officers from the Boston Police Department’s District B-3 in Mattapan confiscated 25 unregistered mopeds, scooters and motorcycles around 4 p.m. Wednesday.
An additional six vehicles were recovered on July 6.
The seizures came in response to residents’ concerns about dangerous driving of unregistered off-highway vehicles, which are required to have number plates and expiration decals, police said.
Authorities did not release information about any arrests or citations issued in connection with the vehicle seizures.
The investigation is ongoing as police work to address safety issues related to off-highway vehicle use on city streets.
