BOSTON — Six suspects were arrested Wednesday in connection with a November 2023 shooting in Roxbury that left a woman injured, Boston police said.
Members of multiple law enforcement units executed search warrants and arrested three suspects early Wednesday morning.
Two more suspects were apprehended Tuesday evening, and one was already in custody on unrelated charges.
During the arrests, police recovered three firearms, two of which were large capacity, as well as devices to make the weapons fully automatic.
Officers also seized ammunition, marijuana and approximately $10,000 in cash.
The arrests stem from a Nov. 17 incident where officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation on Sherman Street around 8:34 p.m. They found a woman with multiple gunshot wounds who was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Those arrested include:
– Odanis Brea, 25, of Boston
– Brian Ortiz, 24, of Dorchester
– A 17-year-old male juvenile
– Machyus Battle, 19, of Cambridge
– Orlando Diaz, 20, of Mattapan
– Ja’mori Williams, 19, of Roxbury
The suspects face various charges including unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, assault and battery by discharge of a firearm, and possession of a firearm in commission of a felony.
Five of the suspects are expected to be arraigned in local courts.
Battle was already in custody on unrelated charges.
