BOSTON — A 64-year-old Boston man was arrested Tuesday evening in connection with a stabbing in the city’s Back Bay neighborhood, police said.

Kris Jennings was taken into custody on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon after officers responded to reports of a fight around 5:56 p.m. near 352 Newbury Street.

Boston Police Department’s Operations division later informed officers of a stabbing in front of the Boston Firehouse at 941 Boylston Street.

Boston firefighters were first on the scene, providing aid to the victim before Boston EMS arrived.

The victim, who has not been identified, was transported to a local hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

A firefighter managed to detain Jennings and recover the knife used in the incident before police officers handcuffed him.

Jennings is expected to face arraignment in Boston Municipal Court.
