MIDDLESEX — Vermont State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect wanted in connection with a stabbing and robbery that occurred at the Middlesex Park & Ride on June 28.
Authorities have identified the suspect as Shannon Edwards, 39, of Montpelier.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Edwards on charges of assault and robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, larceny from a person, and reckless endangerment.
According to investigators, the incident took place around 2:40 p.m. when a confrontation between two men inside a vehicle escalated.
One man was stabbed in the abdomen with a box-cutter-style knife.
The suspect then allegedly stole money from the victim before fleeing the scene.
The victim was treated for injuries at Central Vermont Medical Center and released the same day.
Edwards is described as a white male, 5 feet 7 inches tall, with short brown hair and hazel eyes.
He has a scorpion tattoo on his left forearm and a tribal tattoo near his right shoulder and neck.
State police detectives from the Berlin Barracks have been unsuccessful in locating Edwards thus far.
