Manchester police arrest teen in double stabbing incident

MANCHESTER — A 15-year-old girl has been arrested on assault charges following a double stabbing in the city early Saturday morning, authorities said.

Manchester Police responded to a reported stabbing at 219 Laurel St. at about 12:20 a.m. Officers found two victims, a 16-year-old girl with multiple stab wounds and an 18-year-old male with a broken ankle, lying on the ground in the back alley of Laurel Street South.

The investigation revealed that both victims had been involved in a physical altercation with another female, during which the injuries occurred.

Additionally, an 18-year-old male presented himself at Catholic Medical Center with a stab wound to his upper back, which was linked to the same incident.

Police stated that the stab wounds were serious but non-life-threatening.

The 15-year-old suspect was taken into custody and charged with two counts of first-degree assault and one count of attempted first-degree assault.

She faces additional charges of simple assault on a police officer and resisting arrest after she allegedly assaulted officers during her arrest.

The names of the victims and the accused have not been released due to their ages.

The Manchester Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances leading up to the altercation.
