Cambridge man cited for hit-and-run, driving with suspended license

BAKERSFIELD — A two-car collision on Route 108N led to the arrest of a Cambridge man for leaving the scene of an accident and operating a vehicle with a suspended license.

Vermont State Police responded to the incident at the intersection of Old Stagecoach Road on July 7 at 1:20 p.m. According to authorities, Michael Tanguay, 45, initially fled the scene in reverse before abandoning his vehicle and fleeing on foot.

The other driver involved in the crash was identified as Richard Gravelle, 72, of Milton.

Details on any injuries suffered were not immediately provided.

Tanguay, whose driving privileges had been criminally suspended in Vermont, inexplicably returned to the scene during the investigation.

Upon his return, he was apprehended and cited by the police.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Franklin County Superior Court Criminal Division on Aug. 6 at 8:30 a.m. to face charges stemming from the incident.
