East Bridgewater police investigate shooting of teen outside condo complex

EAST BRIDGEWATER — East Bridgewater Police are investigating after a 17-year-old boy was shot in the parking lot of a condominium complex on Thursday night, according to Chief Michael Jenkins.

The shooting took place shortly before 9 p.m. on July 4 at the Pompohono Pines complex on Robins Street.

Police responded to a 911 call and found the teen with a gunshot wound to his stomach.

Officers, along with paramedics from the East Bridgewater Fire Department, provided aid before the victim was transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim and another 17-year-old male were on a motorized scooter when the incident occurred.

Authorities currently do not believe the shooting was a random act.

The East Bridgewater Police are pursuing several leads and ask anyone with information to contact them at 508-378-7223.

No additional details have been released at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
