BURKE — The Vermont State Police initiated a search for a missing 40-year-old man, Eric Hackett, after he failed to return home from work on July 5.
Hackett was last seen on Darling Hill Rd at around 3:15 p.m. the same day.
He was supposed to ride his electric bike back to his residence on Route 5 in Sutton but never arrived.
Authorities were alerted to his disappearance at approximately 10:20 p.m.
Standing 6 feet tall and weighing around 220 pounds, Hackett has short blond/red hair, a mustache, and was last seen wearing brownish-green pants, a T-shirt, a baseball cap underneath a bike helmet, and an orange, fluorescent vest.
His electric bike is described as blue with blue saddlebags.
State Police have released a recent photo of Hackett and are requesting that anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the Vermont State Police-St Johnsbury at (802) 748-3111.
