Troopers make multiple arrests on Independence Day in Providence

PROVIDENCE — Troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks conducted several arrests on Independence Day, July 4, following traffic stops and other incidents in the Providence area.

At 10:16 p.m., Bush Henglatsamy, 35, of Providence, was arrested for driving under the influence and refusing a chemical test after being stopped on Route 95.

Henglatsamy was processed at the barracks, arraigned, and released to a responsible adult.

Minutes later, at 10:22 p.m., Jahlena Giron, also 35, of Providence, was taken into custody on a bench warrant for failing to appear for a review on an elder exploitation charge from Little Compton.

Giron was apprehended on Union Avenue and was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks before being transferred to the Adult Correctional Institution Women’s Intake Center.

Later that night, at 11:39 p.m., Antoine Scott, 34, from Urbandale, Iowa, was arrested as a fugitive from justice for a probation violation related to a child endangerment charge in Iowa.

Scott was found walking along Route 95 and was processed at the barracks before being taken to the Adult Correctional Institution Intake Center.
