Newfane man charged with disorderly conduct after crash on Route 30

NEWFANE — Vermont State Police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Vermont Route 30 in Newfane on July 3, where they later arrested 35-year-old Tyler Smith for disorderly conduct and negligent operation.

According to authorities, the incident occurred at 10:04 p.m. when Smith tried to pass another driver and struck their vehicle.

Following the collision, as the parties were exchanging information, the other driver attempted to move his car to another location, which prompted Smith to punch his vehicle’s window.

Subsequently, Smith rammed into the back of the other party’s vehicle.

Smith was issued a citation for the charges and was released.

He is scheduled to appear at the Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division, on Aug. 13 at 8:30 a.m.
