PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island State Troopers apprehended 41-year-old Lionel Lugo on Monday after a routine traffic stop revealed he had several outstanding warrants.

Lugo, a resident of Providence, was stopped at 3:15 p.m. on Manton Avenue.

The subsequent check revealed three Providence Superior Court Bench Warrants for his failure to appear at restitution reviews.

The charges stemmed from passing counterfeit certificates or notes as per the Scituate Barracks, domestic violence-simple assault from the Woonsocket Police Department, and larceny and grand theft from the Providence Police Department.

Following the vehicle stop, Lugo was taken into custody without incident.

He was processed at the headquarters and then transferred to the Adult Correctional Institute-Men’s Intake Center.
