NEWPORT — The Four Seasons Garden Club in Newport received multiple accolades at the annual meeting of the Federated Garden Clubs of Vermont, held in Manchester.
The event celebrated the significant contributions of garden clubs across the state in promoting the love of gardening and environmental responsibility.
Jo Fretz, the state award chair, presented the club with several honors. Fran Batchelder was recognized with the ‘Best Theme’ award in the Federated Garden Clubs of Vermont Photography Series for her entry in the “Spring in its Glory” photo contest.
The club also earned the Pamela C. Hebert Award for Historic Preservation for their ongoing efforts in restoring and maintaining the Cyrus Eaton House Garden at the Old Stone House Museum in Brownington.
In addition, Anne-Marie Schadinger received an honorable mention for her Horticulture Educational Poster, while Anne Page was awarded the Golden Trowel Award for her substantial contributions of time and talent to further the club’s mission.
The annual meeting provided an opportunity for members to engage in educational sessions, share successful gardening techniques, and discuss trends in horticultural sustainability.
