MORETOWN — Vermont State Police arrested a 38-year-old Barre Town man on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs on US Rt 2 in Moretown.
Troopers were called at 10 a.m. Saturday to assist the Waterbury Ambulance Service with a report of a vehicle parked on the side of the road with a man slumped over the wheel.
The driver, identified as Christopher Elmer, was found by emergency responders and after an investigation, was determined to have operated the vehicle while impaired by drugs.
Elmer was taken to the Berlin Barracks for processing and evaluated by a drug recognition expert.
He has been cited to appear in Washington County Superior Court on July 1 at 12:30 p.m.
