WOODFORD — Vermont State Police discovered a deceased individual in a vehicle parked on Notch Rd on June 25, around 1:49 p.m. after responding to a motor vehicle complaint.
The complaint, called in by a concerned citizen, reported that the vehicle had been stationed in a pull-off area for more than two weeks.
Upon investigation, troopers found the vehicle contained a sole occupant who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives were dispatched to the location, and the body was subsequently moved to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Burlington for an autopsy.
The examination aims to ascertain the cause and manner of death.
Authorities have stated that the death is not deemed suspicious and assures the public that there is no cause for concern.
The identity of the deceased is currently withheld as officials await the opportunity to notify the next of kin.
The Vermont State Police have not released any additional information regarding the incident.
