Single-vehicle crash leads to DUI arrest in Whitingham

WHITINGHAM — A 19-year-old Massachusetts woman faces charges of driving under the influence and gross negligent operation following a single-vehicle crash in Whitingham early Friday morning.

Vermont State Police responded to a report of a crash on Vermont Route 100 at 12:57 a.m. on June 28.

Upon arrival, troopers spoke with the driver, identified as Nakiya Harrison-Hubbard of Cheshire, Mass.

During the interaction, troopers observed signs of impairment.

Harrison-Hubbard was subsequently arrested on suspicion of DUI and transported to the Wilmington Police Department for processing.

After being issued a citation, Harrison-Hubbard was released.

She is scheduled to appear at the Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division, on July 16 at 8:30 a.m.

The incident occurred near 6677 Vermont Route 100 in Whitingham.

No further details about the crash or potential injuries were immediately available.
